2011 EBC Chicken BBQ

The Elizabethtown Boys Club (EBC) will be holding its 50th Annual Chicken BBQ at the GEARS Community Center Baseball Complex (located on Poplar Street) on Monday, May 30, 2011. Tickets are $8.50, and can be purchased at the Poplar Street Concession Stand or from any EBC baseball player. The meal includes ½ chicken, baked potato, a roll and applesauce. The chicken BBQ is one of the EBC’s largest annual fundraisers. Rick Martin, EBC Baseball Commissioner noted “Community involvement and volunteers are vital in making this a successful fundraiser. The EBC baseball program depends on funds from this event to bring the season to a successful close.” For more information about this event, please contact Lisa Wells at wellsadmin@comcast.net.

The Elizabethtown Boys Club (EBC) was founded in 1953 as a nonprofit youth sports activities organization. Annually, nearly 1,000 kids participate in EBC activities. The mission of the EBC is “to provide access to affordable, quality programs and initiatives that will enable our youth to grow and mature into productive members of our community, better students, friends and teammates.” John Fosnot, EBC Treasurer said, “Community support is the backbone of our organization. For 58 years, because of the support from our sponsors and volunteers, the Elizabethtown Boys Club has been able to provide high quality programs to the children of our community. We would like to thank Gingrich, Smith, Klingensmith and Dolan, for sponsoring the Chicken BBQ this year. ”

The EBC currently meets on the second Wednesday of every month in the GEARS Community Center located on Poplar Street in Elizabethtown. The meetings are open to the public and all are encouraged to attend.
